[Nice and early in the morning, there'll be a wonderful noise coming from one of the empty bedrooms in house 12.

... Except not, because the noise is a loud THUD, followed by a groan and (if one is listening closely) a "dammit" and some mumbled complaining. Being dropped on the edge of an old mattress and immediately falling off of it onto the floor because of that isn't the best feeling to wake up to. Especially when you're just arriving in Luceti.

But uh, yeah. Good morning, house 12 residents!]

[ action - in the late afternoon to evening ]

[Now that he's gotten a fair chunk of his Luceti memories back, Yuri decides to head out that evening and refamiliarize himself with the village a little. Might as well try to get as much of his memory back before doing one of those "hey, I'm back" things, right? Well, it makes sense to him, anyway. He's more or less wandering all over the place in the village, but notably, he's stopping by the Smithy (might as well see if one of his swords is lying around there!), the Battle Dome (only to take a look at the place, though), and finally, the Good Spirits bar. Still, he may come across as a New Feather while he does his wandering, as he slows down a lot while he wanders - sometimes coming to full stops to look at areas or buildings.

Aside from those three places noted, he doesn't really hang around anywhere else in particular, but as he does slow to stops often in random places, feel free to catch him just about anywhere in the village.]

[Wow, she's chatty. But at least they seem to have some kind of good relationship! That he ... has no ... memory ... of ...

[... Ah. Her face takes on a little more serious expression, now. Somehow, she doubts this bad news is something as simple as Yuri not feeling like having oden right now.]

[How do you start something like this ...? Man, it would've been much nicer if he could just play it off, but that seems kind of impossible.

If he actually ever read that guide, this would probably be a bit easier on him.]

This is going to sound pretty weird, but just bear with me, all right? [Well, here goes.] There's something a little ... weird about our world. It's sort of like it's got two timelines in it. [ ... ] Did the old man tell you anything about that?

Hmmm... Nope. [Or maybe he told her and she forgot. That was a whole lot of information she had to process in the span of a few hours.]

What's it mean when the world has two timelines? Does time move twice as slow?

[... If he weren't sitting down, he'd be doing his usual hand-on-the-hip + sighing motion right about now. So instead, he'll just sigh. Craaaaap. This would be so much easier if Rita were around to do all this science-y talk, or whatever it qualified as.]

I've got no idea, but time going slow has nothing to do with it. It's ... [ ... ] ... Where you come from, we all traveled together and went through some trying times, right?

[Patty can't help but notice that Yuri seems awfully troubled by this whole... 'two timelines' thing, whatever it means. She frowns a little.]

Aye! Of course we did. But we sailed right through all those bitter times and now we've got one last battle ahead of us.

It's the same on my end, too. ... Except I never came across you at any point along the way. [And just to avoid any confusion on that--] This is my first time seeing you at all.

[... Hold on. Does not compute.]

I... wasn't there? But... Outside the mansion of that slimy eel Ragou...

[He shakes his head.]

Only those punks he hired were out there.

... But what about that time when you were sailing towards Nordopolica and were attacked by Merman monsters? And I had to take the helm because Tokunaga got hurt? And then we ran into the Atherum, and...

[She trails off, trying to figure out what this means. If Patty wasn't there, what about Cypher? Was he there? What happened to her in that timeline? And her crew?]

Tokunaga didn't get hurt from what I remember. We did run into the Atherum, though.

[... Dragging this out and pointing out all the inconsistencies will probably just make it worse on Patty, the way Yuri sees it. So, he tries to cut the conversation a little shorter.]

I'm sure none of this makes any sense to you, but that's just the way it was on my end. I don't know how or why things ended up the way they did, but it is what it is.

[If only Yuri knew the evils of Microsoft deadlines and PS3 executive demands ......]

It is what it is... [Does she really want to know what happened to Cypher? Maybe she's better off staying oblivious. ... No. That wouldn't be right. If she'd stayed oblivious in her own timeline, she wouldn't have been able to save Cypher. The truth had been hard on her, but it was something she had to learn.]

Then... Do the words Black Hope mean anything to you? Or... Siren's Fang?

[Yuri pauses for a moment to be sure, then continues.]

... I never heard anything about this Black Hope thing, but I know I've heard the name Siren's Fang before.

It's a Guild. A pirate Guild. ... Are they... still around?

No. The person I heard that name from said their leader died, and everyone went their separate ways after that.

[ps3pirate]

Their leader died? [But then... Which leader? Was it truly Aifread who died, or was it Cypher? If everyone went their separate ways after that...]

If it was just their leader, that means everyone else is still alive, right?

Sorry. I didn't really ask that guy any questions about it, so I don't know about that.

[She's quiet for a few more seconds, but then decides to force a careless smile.]

Right! Right, I was just curious! Well, Yuri, seeing as we're both stuck in this place like caged crabs, that means we've got a lot of time to get to know each other again!

[That sounded much more than curiosity to him, but considering the situation (and the fact that she seems to be trying rather hard to change the topic), he leaves it alone for now. It's pretty obvious she's somehow connected to that guild, though ...

Regardless, since she's trying to make the conversation more casual, he'll try to appear more casual about it by leaning back against the couch.]

Yeah, I guess so. Although you've got an obvious advantage on that already.

[Patty's still trying her best not to seem upset by this. It's not like real amnesia if Yuri never had memories of meeting her in the first place. It's nobody's fault things turned out like this, so... The only thing she can do is work to fix the situation.]

That's true! So I'll let you ask me anything in return. What do you wanna know? Favorite color? Favorite food? The secret to my super eel fishing technique?

[Yuri could care less about that stuff, but he'll bite back on saying that for now. Might as well at least try to be nice, all things considered. Really, the things he wants to know all lead back to the whole "pointing out what's different" line of topics, but guh ...

I don't know ... The old man's putting me in charge of cooking most nights, so I guess knowing what you won't eat at all would be helpful.

I eat just about anything! You can't be picky when it comes to the essentials, and food is about the most essential thing there is.
