[It's been just about two weeks since Yuri's return to Luceti. He mostly kept to himself during this time, wanting to make certain he had most - if not all - of his memories of Luceti back before he made it clear that he was around again. ... And of course, before taking control of Brave Vesperia again. Seeing his guildmates and having no clue who half of them were wouldn't exactly win him any points with them, after all.

But now, he was sure he remembered most things. ... Little details weren't around, but he didn't see the details as being nearly as important as faces and names. Regardless, he decided that he'd done enough waiting around and flipped open his journal.]

[ voice ]

I guess I've put this off long enough. [... Geez, what does he even say? "Hey guys, I'm back, in case someone didn't know!" Wow, that's kind of lame. Uhm.] So ... for those who know me, I'm back again - and I remember most things, as far as I can tell. For those who've got no clue who I am ... I wouldn't worry about it. I'm just one of those guys who keeps winding up here for whatever reason. You know, one of the "lucky" ones. [You could practically hear the quotes around 'lucky'.]

Anyway, I'll be taking charge of Brave Vesperia again over the next few days. So, if you've got any business with the guild and need to contact the guy in charge, send a message out to Yuri Lowell. I'll get back to you when I can. Also, if any guild members have anything they feel should be brought to my attention or anything like that, just let me know.

[Hm ... Yeah, that should be good enough. Although, there is one last thing ...]

... Aside from all that, I've got a question. Does anyone know just who was in charge of that training school thing from a while back? I've got a few things to ask them, if they're still around.

[Aside from that bit of business he had to take care of, Yuri's also at the battle dome, trying to get used to using the control panel for it again. ... Sure, he's only got it to do basic things (send out monsters in a typical grassy field), but it's something. He'll figure the rest of it out later.

So yes, feel free to run into him while he tries to figure out how to do more than just super basic things with the battle dome, or even catch him while he's training there.]

I know it's not, but that's what I need your help with. I want to run a coffee shop, but there aren't any buildings and the house I live in isn't fit for a business [ Way too loud, they scream a lot there ] and I want a large underground basement for it too. I can offer people to train with for other things besides building, since live training is a lot more effective than anything the battledome can come up with and I guarantee we won't be trying to record your movement patterns or whatever it is the Malnosso do with the information they gather from the battledome.

[ She just assumes they do. It's what she'd do if she were some kind of creepy organization who experiments on people. Either way, live training will be beneficial for more than just Brave Vesperia, she figures. ]

Also I'll put a priority table in for Brave Vesperia members in the coffee house and if I need anything else, provided that you do a decent job it'll be a continual business relationship. Sound good?

[ Well, she knows what she wants at least. Pleasantries and conversations can come after she gets what she came for. ]

[... Well, he was all right with all this until he heard "underground basement". That's a little ...]

Wait, couldn't you just use the tunnels or the barracks for that sort of thing, instead of some basement? Not sure about that tunnel system, but the barracks were built here by someone else, not the Malnosso - so it doesn't have any of the things they use to monitor us there. I mean, I don't mind having to put together a coffee shop, and I'm with you on the live training part, but we don't exactly have the resources to be building basements like that.

[If he knew a certain earthbender, maybe, but welp.]

[ She does know Aang fortunately, and he already offered to help with the foundations.. ]

If I can get someone else to open up the ground for a basement, can you just build upward from there? It'd be like a two story building, except one story is underground, right?

[Yuri pauses for a moment. The basement was really the only glaring problem he had with her request, but if someone else does it, then ...]

... If someone else does that part of it, then yeah, it should be possible. [ ... ] So, how big of a place are we talking here?

A medium sized coffee house. I want there to be space for chairs and tables if people want to sit and relax, a counter and a glass case for stuff like biscotti, fruit bowls, things like that... Then I need space for espresso machines, et cetera. I don't want it too cramped, but the spot I picked out has plenty of room and it'll be right next to the water, so if I could get those huge windows that pane out over the stream that'd be great.

Also the building should be hexagon shaped because there aren't any other hexagons in Luceti.

[That's ... detailed. Which is a good thing, as it just makes it easier to tell ~~the guild's pet alchemist~~ their collaborative partner what to do.]

You really wanna make sure it stands out somehow, huh? [Well, whatever. But there was one other thing--] Anyway, we've got three other jobs running right now, so it'll take a little while before we can get to it. [he shrugs lightly] Shouldn't take too long to finish up the others, but I'm still not about to give any promises about when we can start your job or how long it'll take. If that's fine with you, then we'll do this.

[He can already see the looks his guildmates are going to give him when he tells them about this, but this job sounded a lot more useful to him than some of the other building jobs they've gotten, so--!]

That's fine. I heard you guys were the best builders in town, so I'd rather wait for someone with skills than risk having a crappy building. I can draw a rough schematic for you so you've at least got something to go on if you want. I know you said no promises, but what's a rough estimate on how long it'll take until you can start?

Oh, and if I hire you guys again it won't be building jobs, don't worry. I just need this one place and it should be fine, barring disaster.

[Yuri's really trying to seem as professional as he can get about this while still being himself, but hearing that last bit just ends with him letting out a light, automatic sigh of relief. He'll just continue on and respond as if he didn't just do that, though.]

A schematic would be pretty helpful. As far as a rough estimate ... I want to say a month to a month and a half. I can't see it taking any longer than that to start this.

[ There's only a brief beat before Yuri puts both of her hands down on the desk, folding them together. ]

So what do you do besides building? I know you do other things but I don't actually know any details.

Hmm? ... We're sort of a "jack of all trades" kind of guild, so we can be hired out for just about anything. We've done scouting and information gathering here in the past a few times, and work as back up for the Blue Rogues, too.

[A small pause while he considers whether or not he should bother saying this or not, but why not --]

Our jobs were a lot more varied than that back where the guild originally came from, but it's a little tougher to get hired out here to find lost items, or rare materials in dangerous places.

[ Yurippe pauses for a brief moment, obviously having an idea. She messes around with the security status and manages a pretty decent filter just to Yuri using the method that Bruce taught her, then continues. ]

What if I hired you for a training exercise with my guys where they didn't know they were getting surprise attacked? As long as you promise not to seriously injury anyone, my guys already know I don't tolerate kills. This won't be until after the coffee shop is up, obviously, but I think it'd be a good exercise. If they can't at least stand up to you then we don't stand a chance against our real opponents and I need to know exactly where everyone's capabilities are.

[... Well, that's certainly different. The fact that it's something aside from building almost makes Yuri jump to an automatic yes, but--]

That's good and all, but are they trained to fight in any way? I'm sure the guild could handle this, but if your guys freak out and think we're seriously trying to come after them, they could end up injuring one of my guys while we're busy playing nice.

Some of them are, some of them aren't. My guys know I don't tolerate doing anything permanent, so even if your guys get hurt it should be fine. I'll give you their names and put a star next to the ones you might want to send more than one guy after.

[Yuri goes quiet for a few moments, thinking about this more deeply before giving a decision. Some of her people aren't trained to fight, and it'd be a surprise attack on them ... She's essentially hiring them to act like thugs, even if there's a purpose to her plan.

After those few seconds of quiet--]

"Do justice for others, and punish the unjust" ... That's one of the laws Brave Vesperia goes by. [ ... ] Sorry, but sending my guild members out to do something like this, especially with those circumstances, isn't just. Try the Rogues, if you really want to do that, but we're not taking that job up.

I wouldn't ask you to actually hurt them, but that's fair. I'll figure out something else. Our enemy isn't someone that cares about justice or fairness at all, so I need someone who knows we're not actually risking people but is still willing to help with it. Thanks anyway.

[He raises an eyebrow at that response, but shrugs.]
