[As per usual, Yuri's spending his morning today in the battle dome ... although, for those who've seen him in there a decent amount of times, they may notice something different. Like the fact that he seems to be using a mid-sized axe instead of a sword this time around. It even seems to be making some of his artes look and act a little differently as well.

He also has a sword leaning against the room he's using - namely the katana Luke got him for Christmas. Occasionally, during breaks in his training, he'll wander over to it and pick it up, as if thinking about something related to it, but he always ends up putting it back down again.

Feel free to interrupt his session at any point! The monsters he's fighting don't seem to be challenging him very much, to begin with.]

Got a bit of a question for everyone. Which do you think is better - swords, or axes?

As for you all, I figured I should let you know that I'll be trying to do a little recruiting around the end of the month. I'm planning on doing the usual through-the-journal kind, but if anyone's got a better idea, let me know.

... Actually, if anyone's got any ideas for the guild at all, now's a good time to tell me. Especially if it'd help us stand out a little more as something other than some kind of construction group.

[He pauses for a moment there. His childhood, and closest, friend was killed by Noel as well. Hell, he and another good friend of his were almost killed by her, too. That wasn't something he really wanted to remember, so his voice might seem a tad cold when he responds.]

... The village at large survived, at the very least. That could've gone a lot worse than it did.

...True. Everything was back to normal within two weeks. This world's blessing, if nothing else.

I don't know anyone who would use them. Unless for chopping wood.

[A warren? ... He's heard the word before being used to describe parts of the lower quarter, so he's pretty sure he knows what it means. Crowded or run-down or ... whatever. Maybe both. Whatever - he's got a guess, at least.

I can't say I know many people who'd use them, either. Then again, I don't know many people who'd even be able to lift or swing them around too easily.

Well, not everyone's made to swing around things like that. Especially axes - I mean, I know how to use one, but those things are pretty heavy.

... I don't know, I don't think height has much to do with it. I mean, I could probably be shorter than you and still use one, so long as I have the upper body strength for it.

Hmm ... I guess armor could take care of that, if you wear enough of it. It'd be kinda hard to move around, though ...

Well for me, they're still awkward. The weight isn't evenly distributed for me. At least with a sword, you get a lot more of that.

Can't really argue with that. I mean, there are some heavy swords out there, but they're probably still more evenly distributed than an axe, weight-wise.

I don't think anybody who uses a sword will to tell you the truth.
