[As per usual, Yuri's spending his morning today in the battle dome ... although, for those who've seen him in there a decent amount of times, they may notice something different. Like the fact that he seems to be using a mid-sized axe instead of a sword this time around. It even seems to be making some of his artes look and act a little differently as well.

He also has a sword leaning against the room he's using - namely the katana Luke got him for Christmas. Occasionally, during breaks in his training, he'll wander over to it and pick it up, as if thinking about something related to it, but he always ends up putting it back down again.

Feel free to interrupt his session at any point! The monsters he's fighting don't seem to be challenging him very much, to begin with.]

Got a bit of a question for everyone. Which do you think is better - swords, or axes?

As for you all, I figured I should let you know that I'll be trying to do a little recruiting around the end of the month. I'm planning on doing the usual through-the-journal kind, but if anyone's got a better idea, let me know.

... Actually, if anyone's got any ideas for the guild at all, now's a good time to tell me. Especially if it'd help us stand out a little more as something other than some kind of construction group.

Guess I should just focus on stressing the whole "we don't just build things" part and hope that works ...

If the building part bothers ya so much, then stop takin' on jobs that mean we gotta make stuff! It's kind of very simple logic.

I would, if they weren't the only jobs we've been getting lately. That and we're not in any position to be too picky, either ...

See, that's where ya doin' it wrong! Do ya really think a guild like Altosk would take up a buildin' job just because there was nothing else goin' at the time? That's what I was tellin' you guys before, ya need to clearly outline what the guild is about! Most guilds specialize in somethin', a jack of all trades one usually doesn't last too long.

Then again... that's because at least back home those sorts of jobs could be passed onto specialists, meaning that all-trade ones were kinda useless in comparison.

Exactly. If we weren't one of only two or so gigs in town, then I would be pickier about it. As it is now, we're kind of stuck taking whatever comes our way.

Although, with that guy I cut a deal with, building things should be a lot less of a hassle now.

I don't think yer listening to me, I'm telling ya to just say no! No jobs are better than doin' something you don't want to. Maybe someone else will start up a group for buildin' crap and leave us doin' better things.

... I get what you're saying, trust me. What we're doing now isn't what I - or probably anyone else - signed on for, on top of that. But the only reason we've got for not doing it is more or less "because we don't want to". Unless we come up with a better excuse than that, or prove that we're worth hiring for other reasons, we could easily just run ourselves into the ground by trying to get choosey.

Yer overthinkin' this too much, there's nothing wrong with just sayin' no. You've got no problem telling me that you don't wanna do stuff, it's no different with a potential client. It's not like yer even bein' paid for this, there's no profit so you do have the right to choose.

... Fine, I'll try saying no the next time we get a job like that. Besides, with that alchemist guy around, I might be able to pass those jobs off to him instead.

How can you make a buildin' with alchemy?!

Hell if I know, but he did it. He wouldn't join the guild, but I did manage to get some kind of partnership of sorts out of him.

Well, I don't mind taking in the weirdos too, so long as they're not too weird.

What about just grabbin' people and forcing them into it, like ya did ta me?

That requires some pretty specific circumstances, you know. It could be a while before we get any new members if we did things that way.

[Because yes, he was terrible enough to more or less force people into the guild in the past. ... Hmmm, maybe he really should just nab people and force them in, like the old days ...]

I haven't heard anythin' from the Blue Rogues in a while, let's steal their members!

[... Even if the thought occurred to him a few times, especially since the Rogues represent the sort of direction Karol seemed to want to take the guild to start with. Still. Adell's a cool guy, he doesn't want to do that to him.]

[... Yuri actually goes quiet at that for a few moments. He never thought of something like that. With the way things seemed to be going for both groups, it could very well be beneficial for both, but ...

... at the same time, it'd mean the Blue Rogues would either have to give up their name, or become a sub-division of Brave Vesperia - or some other change would have to happen to Brave Vesperia itself. He's not sure what Adell or Stahn would think about that, especially since he already knows he doesn't want his own guild to have to change it's name, or anything along those lines.

But still ...]

... Maybe. I guess it could be worth mentioning to Adell, at least. Given why that group still exists, though ... I'm not so sure if it'd actually work out.

[Raven is actually surprised that Yuri is taking his suggestion seriously. After all, that would mean they could possible form a type of make-shift Union in Luceti. Then again, maybe this was all part of Raven's big plan to try and push the groups into allying against their captors. Or maybe it was a kind of irony that it could possibly end up with Brave Vesperia leading a Union. With Karol no longer around there's nobody to really reinforce the laws of the guilds, which leaves Raven to have a little fun with them instead.]

Well, the two groups do have a treaty between 'em, right? Brave Vesperia acts as a back-up when they need it from what I recall. Maybe the treaty should be switched ta be more in our favor than theirs?

[He's really trying hard to think of a way for Brave Vesperia to be closer to what it was back home okay ;_; But Raven does have a good point there - maybe, if nothing else, he should at least discuss that with Adell. It'd sure as hell be easier than "hey let's fuse our groups and keep it all under BV's banner", or something.

... yeah, definitely easier. And probably more reasonable, in theory.]

That sounds a lot easier to discuss, at least ... [ ... ] I'll try to talk to him about this a little later.
